As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking an HSE Manager to join our dynamic team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The HSE Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of KEO’s Safety Management System (SMS) on a major project. This position involves providing expert HSE advice to both KEO staff and contractors, aiming to elevate health and safety standards across the site. Success in this role will be measured by the successful implementation of safety protocols and the fostering of a culture of safety within the project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of KEO’s Safety Management System on the project, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project teams, and contractors to promote HSE best practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest HSE best practices and standards, integrating them into project operations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the SMS and recommend necessary revisions to the Regional H&S Manager.
  • Conduct HSE training sessions based on assessed needs for KEO employees involved in the project.
  • Monitor contractor performance regarding HSE standards and maintain comprehensive statistical data for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure timely and effective incident reporting and investigations to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Analyze project incident data and key performance indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis to track safety performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the project site to ensure compliance with safety regulations and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Manage the activities of KEO Safety Officers, assigning duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Review contractor health and safety documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Track the resolution of health and safety violations and inspection reports issued to contractors.
  • Chair project health and safety meetings and participate in construction progress meetings to discuss safety matters.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in health, safety, and environmental management.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Safety & Environmental or a related field is essential.
  • Chartered status with NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • Experience in managing health and safety on mixed-use projects is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence and promote a culture of safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry trends.
