The Company Behind the Role
Parsons is a global leader in engineering, construction, and technology — a company that genuinely harnesses innovation to solve the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges. With projects spanning defence, smart cities, transportation, and environmental solutions across the globe, a safety officer career at Parsons means working on things that actually matter. The culture is built around one simple idea: when people are empowered to be themselves and grow without limits, extraordinary things happen.
The Role in a Nutshell
This is a hands-on, site-facing HSE Officer position embedded within a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with the Safety Manager and contractors day-to-day — driving the implementation of Parsons’ corporate HSE management systems, monitoring performance on the ground, and making sure safety is never an afterthought. Think of yourself as the eyes, ears, and voice of safety across the project.
What You Will Be Doing
- Roll out Parsons HSE Policy, HSE Plans, and UAE HSE legislation across the project and track performance against targets
- Work directly with the Safety Manager and contractors to strengthen and embed corporate HSE management ethics on site
- Monitor contractor activities to verify that applicable safety measures and best practices are being followed consistently
- Review Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Plans for all key site activities; assess the effectiveness of hazard controls, job safety plans, and work method statements
- Carry out regular HSE site visits and report findings to the Resident Engineer for immediate action
- Review and assess contractors’ monthly HSE inspection reports
- Lead and facilitate monthly safety meetings — set targets, resolve outstanding issues, and circulate minutes to all relevant parties
- Review contractor Emergency Preparedness plans, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, HSE meetings, and statistical records
- Analyse incident and accident investigation reports from contractors, communicate lessons learned, and follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence
What You Need to Bring
The essentials:
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a relevant discipline from a recognised university
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience on infrastructure or construction projects
- Recognised H&S certifications valid in the UAE — NEBOSH, OSHAD Qudorat/ADOSH SF, First Aid, Fire Safety, or equivalent
- Ability to attend in-person interviews in the UAE
Bonus points if you have:
- At least 2 years of recent experience in construction supervision of infrastructure works
- Background working within an engineering consultancy environment
- UAE-specific project experience and a valid UAE driving licence
What You Can Expect to Earn
Safety Officers in Abu Dhabi at this level and seniority typically earn between AED 8,000 and AED 16,000 per month — and like all UAE-based roles, that salary is completely tax-free. Parsons roles at this level generally come with medical cover, annual leave, and end-of-service benefits as standard under UAE Labour Law. For candidates relocating, support with visa processing is typically part of the package. It is solid, stable compensation for a role on a project of genuine scale and significance.
