Accounting Opportunity with Masdar

Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) is offering an opportunity for an Accountant (UAE National) to join its Chief Operating Office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The position focuses on project accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS and company policies.

This role is suited to accounting professionals with experience in infrastructure, construction, or project-based environments and strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• Record project-related financial transactions in the General Ledger in accordance with IFRS and Masdar policies.
• Prepare monthly trial balances and ensure accurate and timely financial closing.
• Process monthly accruals and provisions while checking their accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of accounting systems and financial data.
• Support external audits and provide required financial documentation.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivable and accounts payable aging reports.
• Perform bank, customer, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze project costs, including capital expenditure and other significant financial balances.
• Manage accrual accounting in accordance with applicable IFRS requirements.
• Oversee payroll accounting and ensure employee payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor employee timesheets and leave records for payroll purposes.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, budgets, financial analyses, and management reports.
• Produce project finance reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation required for project distributions.
• Monitor debt repayments, interest payments, and hedging arrangements in accordance with financing agreements.
• Coordinate with tax authorities and prepare required tax filings and payments.
• Maintain appropriate tax accounting records and ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in infrastructure, construction, or project-based environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with General Ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and audits.
• Knowledge of tax compliance, cash flow management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Good understanding of accounting systems and internal control procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and multicultural project environment.
