About the Position

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is hiring a Specialist, Credit – Mortgages to support its Personal Banking Credit team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on evaluating mortgage applications, assessing customer creditworthiness, reviewing financial information, and ensuring lending decisions comply with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to process mortgage applications efficiently while maintaining high underwriting standards and minimizing credit risk.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess mortgage applications by reviewing customer financial information and supporting documents.
  • Analyze bank statements, audited financial statements, and credit history to evaluate lending risk.
  • Prepare well-supported credit recommendations for new loans and credit limit extensions.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of all credit documentation before submission.
  • Ensure applications comply with internal credit policies and Central Bank regulations.
  • Identify potential credit risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Review security documents and manage outstanding documentation within required timelines.
  • Perform required system validations and maintain accurate customer information.
  • Process mortgage applications within agreed turnaround times.
  • Conduct employment verification (EV) and customer profile verification (CPV) where required.
  • Prepare productivity reports and provide updates to management.
  • Maintain effective communication with branches and internal business units.
  • Support audit requirements and ensure full compliance with internal procedures.
  • Participate in training programs and continuously improve professional knowledge.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Educational Background

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Management, or a related field.

Experience & Professional Background

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant banking or financial services experience.
  • At least 1 year in a mortgage credit, underwriting, or credit assessment role.
  • Experience evaluating customer financial documents and lending proposals.
  • Good understanding of retail banking, mortgage products, and credit approval processes.
