About the Role

The Senior Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the highest safety standards and compliance within ABIS’s oil and gas operations. This position involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, monitoring safety procedures, and leading training initiatives to reduce workplace hazards.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to promote a safe working environment and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs specific to oil and gas shutdown and turnaround activities

• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance

• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences

• Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees and contractors

• Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies

• Advise management on safety matters and participate in emergency response planning

• Promote a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in safety roles within the oil and gas industry

• Strong knowledge of industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices

• Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and manage multiple tasks
