As a Junior Maintenance Technician within the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of various equipment and vehicles. In this position, you will be tasked with supporting experienced technicians in both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. Your responsibilities will encompass diagnosing faults, conducting repairs, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to minimize downtime and ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to established safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily maintenance tasks in alignment with operational needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workshop and surrounding areas, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment and vehicles, focusing on minimizing downtime during breakdowns.
• Document all maintenance activities in the logbook and Maintenance Management System to facilitate effective planning and record-keeping.
• Adhere to safety protocols during maintenance tasks to prevent personal injuries and equipment damage.
• Communicate with senior technicians regarding spare parts and tools required for timely maintenance completion.
• Support scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure operational reliability and safety.
• Execute tasks related to ULD repairs and assembly following established procedures and safety regulations.
• Assist maintenance technicians with the upkeep and repair of facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and ground support units.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A completed 2-year Trade Certificate in an engineering discipline is essential.
• At least 3 years of experience in maintenance across facilities, automotive, electrical, civil, or mechanical sectors, preferably within a large organization in the aviation or cargo handling industry.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with ground support equipment or heavy vehicles will be an advantage.
• Specialized training in hydraulics, lifting equipment, or PLC systems is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• A valid UAE driving license or home country driving license is preferred but not mandatory for cargo areas.
• Possession of a valid operating equipment license (ADP) is advantageous but not required for cargo areas.
