Job Overview
Ameeri Services Co. W.L.L. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Technician to join its team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining fibre optic and structured cabling systems while ensuring high-quality work, project compliance, and safe on-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, route, terminate, and dress fibre optic cables.
- Perform fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing using OTDR, optical power meters, fusion splicers, and related equipment.
- Interpret OTDR test results and troubleshoot fibre faults, attenuation, and connectivity issues.
- Install and terminate structured cabling systems, including Cat6/Cat6A, patch panels, and RJ45 outlets.
- Install and terminate fibre patch panels, ODFs, telecom racks, and communication cabinets.
- Maintain proper cable management, labelling, tagging, and installation documentation.
- Assist with the installation of telecom equipment, including network cabinets, switches, routers, and accessories.
- Read and interpret fibre route drawings, cable schedules, and installation layouts.
- Coordinate with project engineers and supervisors during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company HSE policies and client safety requirements.
- Prepare daily work reports and assist with project documentation when required.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing.
- Proficiency in using OTDRs, optical power meters, fusion splicers, and fibre testing equipment.
- Knowledge of fibre optic connectors such as LC, SC, and ST.
- Experience with fibre patch panel and ODF management.
- Ability to troubleshoot fibre optic networks and resolve connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and installation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
Qualifications
- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Fibre optic splicing certification is an advantage.
- A valid Bahrain driving licence is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in fibre optic installation, splicing, and testing.
- Experience in telecommunications, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial projects is preferred.
- Experience working on projects in Bahrain or other GCC countries is an advantage.
