Job Overview
As an HSE Engineer at ADNOC, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring and enhancing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance across our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all activities align with ADNOC’s safety standards, policies, and procedures. You will act as a key point of contact for the implementation of HSE management systems, providing essential support to various functions and personnel. Your insights and recommendations will be crucial in resolving incidents and driving HSE development projects to fruition.
This position demands a proactive approach to HSE compliance, where you will participate in high-impact inspections and audits, ensuring that all operations, from equipment installation to facility shutdowns, adhere to established safety protocols. Success in this role means not only maintaining compliance but also fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze reports from Group Companies to ensure timely and aligned HSE support.
- Monitor compliance with HSE standards and participate in complex inspections to verify adherence to safety procedures.
- Facilitate understanding and communication of the HSE Management System across ADNOC and its subsidiaries.
- Evaluate purchasing standards to ensure that equipment and materials meet safety codes and technological advancements.
- Contribute to the development of safety programs, ensuring the availability of manuals, instructions, and safety materials.
- Prepare and update safety inspection checklists and schedules for assessing hazards at Group Companies’ facilities.
- Collaborate with HSE technical experts on studies such as HSE Impact Assessments, HAZOP, and Risk Assessments.
- Audit and review ongoing projects to ensure sustainable development and compliance with HSE standards.
- Analyze accidents and recommend actions to minimize recurrence, ensuring follow-up on implementation until closure.
- Participate in accident investigations as per HSE management directives to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in reviewing and amending the Company’s Audit and Management of Contractors Procedures.
- Engage in the implementation of internal audits at both site and corporate levels.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities within your assigned area to achieve functional objectives.
- Provide input for budget preparation and assist in monitoring budget implementation and variances.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a Safety or HSE Engineer role.
- Proven experience in HSE project implementation, inspections, and systems.
- Familiarity with drilling, operations, construction, petrochemicals, or refinery sectors is essential.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 9001, NEBOSH/NIOSH NPG, ISO 14001, and ISO 27000 are preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to assess incidents and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
