As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld across various projects. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and you will be working closely with Framework Contractors to ensure their adherence to contractual obligations.
Success in this position will involve conducting both planned and unplanned inspections, reviewing health and safety plans, and supporting internal audits. You will be responsible for monitoring contractor performance and ensuring that any non-conformities are addressed promptly. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of Framework Contractors’ work activities and labor camps to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Ensure timely resolution of HSE non-conformities as identified in inspection and audit reports.
- Review and analyze health and safety plans from Framework Contractors to ensure compliance with QCS 2014 and future amendments.
- Support the client’s internal audits and conduct Second Party Audits of Framework Contractors.
- Review HSE Weekly and Monthly Reports, as well as Contractor’s Key Personnel CVs.
- Monitor the performance of Framework Contractors in relation to HSE and report findings to the contracts team.
- Evaluate Framework Contractors’ KPIs related to HSE for invoicing purposes.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other departments on HSE activities.
- Prepare and submit monthly health and safety reports for assigned Catchment Zones.
- Ensure compliance with new business processes and recommend improvements to eliminate redundant activities.
- Collaborate with other teams to align systems and working practices related to HSE.
- Oversee the issuance of permits (entry, confined space, shutdown, etc.) according to the client’s procedures.
- Attend monthly HSE meetings with contractors to address current and anticipated HSE issues.
- Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures, complying with any new work instructions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certification is required.
- Additional certifications in Confined Space Entry, Working at Height, First Aid, and Hazard Assessment are essential.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Familiarity with management systems and ISO accreditation is preferred.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
