Job Overview
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician at ADNOC plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of major plant equipment within the LNG or ASR Plant. This position requires a skilled individual capable of performing maintenance, overhaul, and repair work on various machinery, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and more. Success in this role is defined by the technician’s ability to maintain high standards of safety and operational integrity while executing precise mechanical tasks.
In this dynamic environment, the technician will collaborate with other professionals or work independently to ensure that all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. The role demands a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with a variety of tools and measuring devices, ensuring compliance with industry practices and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct skilled maintenance, overhaul, and repair tasks on major plant equipment, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
- Utilize a range of tools and measuring devices such as spanners, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform tasks with high accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians or independently to dismantle, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment.
- Fabricate pipework from isometric drawings and perform repairs on heat exchangers, boilers, and vessels.
- Operate basic machine tools like grinding machines and air-driven drills to assist in maintenance tasks.
- Participate in routine monitoring and analysis of machinery, including vibration analysis and physical inspections.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, including alignment and dimensions of equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in plant areas, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Adhere to Technical and Operational Integrity processes and demonstrate knowledge of HSE requirements.
- Proactively intervene to stop unsafe activities and report any non-compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity with mechanical tolerances, including running fits, press fits, and other specifications related to machinery.
- Proficient in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills.
- Excellent coordination and teamwork abilities to work effectively with colleagues.
