Job Overview
As a Pipeline Technician at ADNOC, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and functionality of pipeline systems. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on pipeline equipment, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of safety and reliability in the oil and gas sector, particularly in the dynamic environment of Ruwais.
Success in this position means not only keeping the pipeline systems operational but also proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate. You will work closely with contractors and other teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance on pipeline equipment, adhering to established procedures and work permit requirements.
- Conduct ‘pigging’ operations on pipelines in line with company protocols.
- Monitor and record readings at cathodic protection test points, reporting any low readings or abnormalities for prompt action.
- Perform regular pipeline patrols and report any unauthorized or hazardous activities near the pipeline right of way.
- Supervise contractors and third parties working on or near pipeline assets to prevent damage to the pipeline system.
- Inspect civil works during construction projects to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
- Continuously monitor the pipeline system to log field process parameter readings.
- Ensure availability of necessary tools, spares, and maintenance equipment to meet operational needs.
- Prepare detailed scopes of work, including safety requirements, permits, special tools, and materials needed for maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate, complemented by a vocational trade certificate in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on pipeline maintenance.
- Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance practices and safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of independent decision-making.
- Excellent observation skills for monitoring pipeline conditions and identifying potential issues.
- Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment relevant to pipeline operations.
