The Role

The Arbor School is seeking an enthusiastic Librarian Assistant to support the effective day-to-day operation of the school library. The role involves fostering a positive reading culture, promoting information literacy across the school community, and helping students develop independent reading and research skills.

The Librarian Assistant will also plan and deliver engaging library and literacy lessons, support curriculum learning, and maintain an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloguing, circulation, and maintaining library resources
  • Promote a positive reading culture and encourage students’ independent reading and research skills
  • Plan and deliver engaging library, literacy, and information skills lessons to support the curriculum
  • Support students and staff in accessing appropriate learning resources, both print and digital
  • Maintain an organised, inclusive, and welcoming library environment that supports learning and student engagement
  • Support the School Librarian as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience (school environment preferred)
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
