A well-established engineering, construction, or fabrication company in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced QC Welding Inspector to ensure the integrity and quality of welds, manage inspection processes, and enforce compliance with welding standards across projects.

Role – Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Welding Inspection Plans (WIP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) for various welding works.

  • Perform inspections on welds (pre-weld, in-process, post-weld) using visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

  • Conduct tests such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, etc., as required.

  • Document inspection findings, prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Liaise with welders, supervisors, engineers, and project management to resolve quality issues.

  • Verify weld procedures and qualification records.

  • Ensure all welding activities comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., ASME, AWS), and safety regulations.

  • Support welders and QA team during pre-weld meetings and “Hold Points.”

  • Participate in project start-up, commissioning, and handover inspections related to welding.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and weld quality criteria.

  • Experience with NDT techniques and inspection tools.

  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.

  • Good communication and interfacing skills to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA documentation systems.

  • Certification as a Welding Inspector or in NDT is a plus.
