Role – Cook (Pakistani Cuisines)
You will prepare, cook, and present a variety of Pakistani dishes to exacting standards for catering operations. Responsibilities include menu execution, ensuring flavour and presentation consistency, managing portions, maintaining hygiene & safety, and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare traditional Pakistani dishes (curries, biryani, tandoori items, breads etc.) according to set recipes and menu plans.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
Plan and prepare ingredients, maintain stock levels, collaborate with store/ procurement for supplies.
Keep kitchen and cooking areas clean; ensure compliance with HACCP / food safety standards.
Support junior kitchen staff and helpers in preparation and cooking tasks.
Manage portion control, reduce food waste, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
Adhere to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 5-10 years’ cooking experience, ideally in catering or large-scale kitchen environments.
Strong knowledge of Pakistani cuisine: spices, cooking techniques, flavour balancing.
Ability to follow recipes, manage multiple dishes, and work under time pressures.
Good understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and safe handling of cooking equipment.
Good communication skills; ability to collaborate in a team.
Salary & Market Insight
Based on current salary data for cooks in Qatar, monthly pay typically ranges between QAR 1,900 to QAR 4,000 depending on experience.
For a cook with 5-10 years’ experience, especially with specialisation in Pakistani cuisine and with catering background, salary around QAR 3,000-4,500/month is reasonable.
