Job Overview

• Location: UAE (Dubai / Abu Dhabi / relevant emirate)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) preferred

• Experience: 5+ years in accounting / financial management roles; prior experience as Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or similar

Role – Chief Accountant

You will oversee the accounting function: preparing financial statements, maintaining internal controls, handling audits, managing accounts, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with local standards. You will lead the accounting team, drive process improvements, and provide management-level financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the full accounting cycle: general ledger, journals, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, intercompany, etc.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements according to accounting standards.

• Coordinate and support external & internal audits; prepare audit schedules and disclosures.

• Implement and monitor internal control procedures and ensure compliance.

• Manage budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial planning inputs.

• Review and approve accounting adjustments, reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

• Liaise with tax, legal, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

• Analyze financial data, report to senior management, and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; professional certification preferred.

• Strong accounting experience (5+ years), including exposure to audit, financial reporting, and controls.

• Proficient with accounting software / ERP systems and Excel.

• In-depth understanding of UAE accounting regulations, IFRS or applicable standards.

• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong integrity.

• Leadership & team management capability; effective communication skills.

Salary & Market Insight

• According to GulfTalent, the average Chief Accountant salary in UAE is around AED 9,500/month, up to AED 16,000 for senior roles.

• Glassdoor data suggests a median salary around AED 13,000 for Chief Accountants in Dubai, with range from AED 8,000 to AED 18,000

• Based on experience and the scale of responsibility, a reasonable salary range for this role could be AED 10,000 to AED 15,500/month.
