Job Overview

Role – Hostess

You will be welcoming guests, managing the reservations system, seating guests appropriately, maintaining the entrance/waiting area, handling guest queries, and ensuring the front-of-house looks tidy and inviting at all times. Your role contributes heavily to first impressions and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival; manage waiting lists and reservations.

• Escort guests to tables; present menu; coordinate with service staff.

• Answer phone calls / reservation inquiries; manage booking software or log.

• Maintain cleanliness and order in host/entrance area.

• Coordinate with kitchen / wait staff to manage guest flow & table turnover.

• Handle guest complaints or requests politely and escalate when needed.

• Assist with special events, guest arrivals, and daily front-of-house operations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in hospitality / restaurant front-of-house / hostess role.

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; friendly, presentable, confident.

• Comfortable in a busy environment; able to stand for durations, manage multiple tasks.

• Basic computer/smartphone skills: reservation systems, phone handling.

• Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.

• Professional attitude; punctual, neat appearance.

Average Salary

• The average monthly salary for a Hostess in UAE is around AED 3,500 to AED 4,500, depending on experience, establishment type, and location.

• Entry-level roles may start lower (AED 2,500-3,500), while more premium venues or high volume establishments may offer higher pay + tips / service charge.
