Job Overview
KEO is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join its project team in Dubai, UAE. The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for conducting site inspections in accordance with mechanical-related Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring that construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, and project standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, consultants, and other project disciplines to monitor construction quality and resolve mechanical-related issues on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by contractors and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practices.
- Identify and report contractor works that do not comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the quality of mechanical works and assess site safety, health, and environmental conditions.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, safety standards, and health and safety risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including progress photographs.
- Ensure inspection records and supporting documentation are readily available when required.
- Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies identified during site inspections.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Check and ensure effective coordination between mechanical works and other project disciplines.
- Provide technical input and practical experience to resolve mechanical-related issues arising on site.
- Communicate relevant quality, technical, and compliance concerns to project stakeholders.
- Support the project team in maintaining construction quality and compliance with approved requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Approximately 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Strong experience in mechanical inspection and construction quality control.
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant local codes, statutory requirements, and international engineering practices.
- Experience working on tower projects in the UAE is required.
- Strong understanding of site inspection procedures and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ability to identify construction deficiencies and prepare surveillance reports and NCRs.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
