As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be pivotal in ensuring that mechanical works on-site meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Success in this position will involve conducting thorough inspections in line with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), addressing Inspection Requests (IR’s) promptly, and ensuring all work aligns with approved drawings and specifications. Your expertise will help maintain safety and quality standards on-site, making you an essential part of the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections on-site according to mechanical Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s).
- Respond to Inspection Requests (IR’s) from contractors in a timely manner.
- Review shop drawings against contract specifications, local codes, and international best practices.
- Report discrepancies in contractor work that do not meet approved drawings and specifications to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor the quality of work and assess safety compliance, including health and environmental considerations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of daily site activities, including progress photos for inspection purposes.
- Prepare surveillance reports for any deficiencies observed on-site and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as necessary.
- Ensure effective coordination between mechanical works and other disciplines on-site.
- Provide technical guidance to resolve any discipline-related issues that may arise during the project.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience in mechanical inspection or construction management.
- Strong background in consultancy, PMC, or supervision consulting is preferred.
- Experience with tower projects in the UAE is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold integrity, safety, and quality in all aspects of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
