Job Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role at Qatar Fabrication Company, leading a team of maintenance foremen and technicians to ensure the seamless execution of maintenance operations. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to strict compliance with the SAP PM plan. Success in this role is defined by the efficient resolution of equipment failures and the accurate completion of work orders, contributing to the overall productivity of the shipyard.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of various equipment types, including fixed and portable machinery, lifting and transportation equipment, and mechanical utilities. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are executed safely and efficiently while meeting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance foremen and technicians, ensuring effective execution of maintenance tasks.
• Provide technical guidance and support, promoting a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee the maintenance of fixed equipment, including CNC, PLC-based, hydraulic, and prefabrication machinery.
• Manage the upkeep of portable equipment such as welding machines, grinders, and other tools.
• Ensure the maintenance of mobile plant equipment including forklifts, air compressors, and generators.
• Supervise the maintenance of lifting and transportation equipment, including cranes and hoists.
• Conduct toolbox talks and prepare work instructions to ensure compliance with QFAB’s QHSES requirements.
• Facilitate permit-to-work requirements and implement necessary safety measures.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Engineer for maintenance quality assessments and tool usage.
• Ensure timely execution of maintenance work orders as assigned by the Engineer.
• Record all man hours and resource utilization in the SAP PM system for review.
• Submit work order completion reports detailing findings and pending actions to the Maintenance Engineer.
• Monitor team performance to ensure adherence to the SAP PM plan and maintenance workflows.
• Utilize technical skills to address and resolve equipment failures promptly.
• Maintain accurate data entry for work orders, ensuring completeness and correctness.
• Engage with production supervisors to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics fields.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards in maintenance operations.
