Job Description

Applications are invited for Faculty Position in Interior Design at PSU at the rank of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor for the upcoming Academic Year 2024/2025, which starts in September 2024. The candidate should teach both studio and theoretical subjects. Qualified Candidates with relevant experience in academics and industry who can contribute in one or more of the areas:

  • History and Theory of Design
  • Interior Design
  • Furniture Design
  • Foundation Design
  • Graphical representation
  • Technology and Building Construction
  • Integrative Design
  • Environmental design and sustainability

ABOUT PRINCE SULTAN UNIVERSITY

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidates for this position have:

  1. A Ph.D. in Interior Design or a related field.
  2. Research and teaching interests in any area relevant to the field of Interior and Built Environment.
  3. Teaching experience in Interior Design not less than 5 years.
  4. Preferably experience in the management of research grants.
  5. Strong research background and Agenda.
  6. Strong record of research indexed in Scopus/ISI.
  7. Proficiency in the written and spoken use of the English language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

We expect the candidate to possess familiarity with software commonly used in Architecture, including AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, 3D Max, Sketch Up, Adobe package, etc. Preference will favor candidates holding BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. degrees in interior design, along with international education from a ranked university in the QS system following the American or European curriculum. Additionally, a strong track record of research indexed in Scopus/ISI is highly desirable. Duties: Essential responsibilities include teaching according to rank, research, student advising, and administration.

Excellent command of English is a must.

An MSc holder with an exceptional professional record, currently residing in Saudi Arabia, qualifies for consideration for a lecturer position.

The level of commencement will depend on the candidate’s skills, experience, and knowledge. We expect successful candidates to teach courses at the undergraduate level, conduct research, supervise student work, and participate in academic scholarship and administrative tasks for the college and the community.
