Qatar Duty Free is looking for a Till Assistant to join the front-line team handling cash desk operations across this space, working directly with both QDFC customers and international travelers passing through one of the busiest airports globally.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you’ll run point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently, keeping wait times low even during peak travel hours. You’ll manage cash, credit cards, and traveler’s cheques securely, keep your till float balanced, and take ownership of any cash variances at shift-end. Beyond the register, you’ll watch for theft-prone zones, flag security concerns to your supervisor immediately, and keep all sales documentation and reporting strictly confidential. Every customer interaction — whether a routine purchase or a complaint — should leave the traveler feeling attended to, not processed.

Requirements

This is an entry-level position — no prior retail experience is required, though candidates with previous customer service or retail background will have an edge. You’ll need basic literacy and numeracy, working English communication skills, and comfort with basic PC/POS systems. Beyond the technical side, the role calls for someone approachable, patient under pressure, and genuinely interested in customer interaction — airport retail moves fast and deals with travelers from every part of the world.
