Position Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a primary care setting. Working alongside physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers, the MA supports clinical operations, assists with patient care, and helps ensure an outstanding patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and document patient health information, vital signs, and visit details
Prepare patients for exams and procedures while ensuring comfort and privacy
Recognize urgent or emergent situations and report appropriately
Support care coordination and implementation of nursing care plans
Educate patients and families on care plans, preventive health, and treatment compliance
Maintain accurate documentation following Kaiser Permanente standards
Adhere to safety, infection control, and patient rights policies
Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
Participate in training, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military experience
Washington State Interim Medical Assistant Certificate or Medical Assistant Certificate at hire
Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C) within 12 months of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in primary care
