Position Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a primary care setting. Working alongside physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers, the MA supports clinical operations, assists with patient care, and helps ensure an outstanding patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and document patient health information, vital signs, and visit details

  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures while ensuring comfort and privacy

  • Recognize urgent or emergent situations and report appropriately

  • Support care coordination and implementation of nursing care plans

  • Educate patients and families on care plans, preventive health, and treatment compliance

  • Maintain accurate documentation following Kaiser Permanente standards

  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and patient rights policies

  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team

  • Participate in training, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military experience

  • Washington State Interim Medical Assistant Certificate or Medical Assistant Certificate at hire

  • Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C) within 12 months of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in primary care
