Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and patient care practices.

  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

  • Willingness to travel between satellite clinic locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and pain-management procedures.

  • Take and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and intake information.

  • Prepare, clean, and organize examination rooms and medical equipment.

  • Schedule patient appointments, coordinate follow-up care, and manage patient flow.

  • Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures as directed.

  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive care.

  • Maintain accurate, compliant patient records within the EHR system.

  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide high-level customer service.

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to support patient-centered care and improved outcomes.

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and clinical standards.

Salary & Market Insight

Typical Salary Range for Medical Assistants in South Carolina:
$30,000 – $45,000 per year, depending on experience and certifications.
