Role – Rig Manager
As the Rig Manager, you will oversee all aspects of rig performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. You will manage drilling teams, supervise rig maintenance, ensure on-time delivery, and align operations with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage rig operations, including drilling, tripping, and well completion activities.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE and operational safety standards.
Coordinate with drilling engineers, maintenance teams, and HSE specialists.
Monitor rig performance metrics (e.g., rate of penetration, non-productive time) and drive continuous improvement.
Manage rig budget, costs, and resource allocation.
Develop and align rig plans with corporate drilling strategies.
Mentor and develop rig crew, supervisors and sub-teams.
Conduct performance reviews, incident investigations and corrective action planning.
Report regularly to senior management on rig status, KPIs, and risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
Proven track record in rig operations, rig supervision, or drilling management roles.
Deep knowledge of rig equipment, drilling processes, and maintenance.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Experience with HSE standards, incident investigation, and risk management.
Financial acumen and budget-management experience.
Ability to work in remote or challenging drilling environments.
