Role – Rig Manager

As the Rig Manager, you will oversee all aspects of rig performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. You will manage drilling teams, supervise rig maintenance, ensure on-time delivery, and align operations with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage rig operations, including drilling, tripping, and well completion activities.

  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE and operational safety standards.

  • Coordinate with drilling engineers, maintenance teams, and HSE specialists.

  • Monitor rig performance metrics (e.g., rate of penetration, non-productive time) and drive continuous improvement.

  • Manage rig budget, costs, and resource allocation.

  • Develop and align rig plans with corporate drilling strategies.

  • Mentor and develop rig crew, supervisors and sub-teams.

  • Conduct performance reviews, incident investigations and corrective action planning.

  • Report regularly to senior management on rig status, KPIs, and risk mitigation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering discipline.

  • Proven track record in rig operations, rig supervision, or drilling management roles.

  • Deep knowledge of rig equipment, drilling processes, and maintenance.

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.

  • Experience with HSE standards, incident investigation, and risk management.

  • Financial acumen and budget-management experience.

  • Ability to work in remote or challenging drilling environments.
