Role – Infrastructure Architect (Banking Domain)
In this role you will lead the design, strategy and implementation of core infrastructure solutions in a banking context. Responsibilities will include defining infrastructure architecture standards, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, evaluating new technologies (cloud, private/hybrid, security, disaster-recovery), collaborating with enterprise architects and business stakeholders, and driving infrastructure projects that support the bank’s digital services and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain the infrastructure architecture roadmap aligned with banking business goals.
Evaluate and select infrastructure technologies (on-premise, cloud/hybrid, network, storage, compute) suitable for banking workloads.
Ensure infrastructure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, risk management and business continuity.
Partner with enterprise architecture, solution architecture and application teams to ensure consistency and performance of end-to-end systems.
Develop infrastructure standards, guidelines, patterns and best practices for banking systems.
Provide technical leadership on major infrastructure initiatives, migrations, integrations and transformations.
Monitor infrastructure metrics, availability, resilience and cost efficiency; propose improvements.
Mentor and guide infrastructure engineering teams and vendors in implementing architecture designs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar.
8-15+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, specifically within banking or financial services domain.
Strong knowledge of banking systems’ infrastructure requirements (e.g., core banking, payments, treasury, compliance).
Experience with cloud, hybrid infrastructure, disaster recovery, network architecture, storage, compute, security.
Proven ability to define architecture roadmaps, set standards and drive implementation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to engage with technical and business audiences.
Experience working in regulated environments and dealing with banking compliance standards.
Salary & Market Insight
