Job Overview

Role – Purchase Specialist

You will be responsible for executing procurement strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring materials are ordered timely, monitoring costs, controlling inventory levels, and ensuring that purchases align with company quality & budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders, solicit and evaluate supplier quotations.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules and payment terms with suppliers.

• Maintain and audit vendor performance; ensure supplier quality, delivery timeliness, and compliance.

• Coordinate with internal teams (production, quality, logistics) to forecast material needs and ensure inventory availability.

• Monitor purchase costs and identify cost saving opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory / safety standards.

• Maintain records of procurement transactions; prepare reports on spend, lead times, supplier metrics.

• Assist in resolving issues like late orders, defective supplies, or quality disagreements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5-9 years of purchasing / procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing, construction, or building materials sectors.

• Good negotiation, supplier sourcing, contract handling skills.

• Strong organizational, analytical, budgeting, record-keeping skills.

• Good communication in English; Arabic is a plus.

• Proficiency with procurement or ERP software & Microsoft Office.

• Understanding of quality requirements and material specifications for concrete products / construction supplies.

Salary & Market Insight

• Based on salary data for purchaser / purchaser-type roles in Bahrain: average is around BHD 499/month.

• For more senior roles (5-9 years’ experience) and specialist procurement responsibilities, a reasonable salary range would be BHD 350–400/month, depending on performance & benefits.
