Role – Business Development Manager (Pumps)

You will lead business growth in the pumps division. This involves identifying new opportunities, preparing technical and commercial proposals, managing client relationships, designing sales strategies, coordinating with engineering / technical teams for product specifications, and ensuring margin targets & profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business plans to grow pumps sales in Abu Dhabi & surrounding markets.

  • Identify new clients / industries (municipal, oil & gas, utilities, construction) and maintain strong relationships with existing ones.

  • Participate in tenders, bids, and technical proposal preparation.

  • Work with technical teams to ensure correct pump selection, design, and specification.

  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, delivery, and support agreements.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor products/pricing, and recommend adjustments.

  • Support marketing or product promotions, exhibitions etc., to enhance brand visibility.

  • Track sales KPIs, report performance, and ensure targets are met or exceeded.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business with technical aptitude.

  • 5-10 years experience in industrial pumps or mechanical equipment sales / business development.

  • Experience in tendering / bidding for projects.

  • Strong technical understanding of pumps/fluid dynamics, application environments, and servicing requirements.

  • Excellent negotiation, relationship building, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (technical, sales, operations).

  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.

Average Salary

  • Business Development Manager roles in Abu Dhabi typically earn between AED 15,000 and AED 28,000/month for pumps or similar industrial sectors. (Base may vary with experience & company)

  • Median salaries are around AED 12,000-16,000/month, with higher earnings possible via commission, bonuses, and project incentives.
