Job Overview

Banyan Tree Dubai is seeking a professional and guest-focused Waiter / Waitress to join its Food & Beverage team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and personalised service while ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience. The role requires strong food and beverage knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required.
• Present menus and confidently explain dishes, daily specials, and beverage options.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation and service standards.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Build positive relationships with guests and personalise the dining experience whenever possible.
• Handle guest questions and minor concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

Restaurant Operations

• Prepare and set up the restaurant before each service according to established standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, service stations, and related areas.
• Ensure tables are properly arranged and reset throughout service.
• Follow the required sequence of service and departmental standard operating procedures.
• Process guest bills accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures.

Food & Beverage Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens, and food preparation methods.
• Develop knowledge of wine, spirits, and other beverage offerings.
• Make appropriate food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Promote menu items, special offers, and suitable upgrades through effective upselling.
• Ensure recommendations enhance the overall guest experience.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow food hygiene, HACCP, health, and safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional grooming.
• Follow company policies and applicable local regulations related to food and beverage service.
• Ensure responsible and compliant handling of food and beverage service.

Teamwork

• Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure smooth service.
• Assist team members during busy periods.
• Maintain a positive and professional working environment.
• Participate in training and continuously improve product and service knowledge.
• Support colleagues and contribute to overall restaurant performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a Waiter or Waitress in a luxury hotel, resort, or premium restaurant is preferred.
• Good understanding of food and beverage service standards.
• Experience using POS systems is an advantage.
• Excellent spoken English and communication skills.
• Additional language skills are beneficial.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
