Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and promote the ethos of GEMS Core Values in all teaching practices.
• Deliver a comprehensive curriculum while demonstrating proficiency in subject matter knowledge.
• Design and implement engaging lessons tailored to various learning styles and needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation of lesson plans, student attendance, and assessment records.
• Adhere to GEMS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to support students with varying abilities, including ESL learners and gifted students.
• Assess and report on student progress, using data to inform instructional practices.
• Incorporate technology effectively to enhance the learning experience in the classroom.
• Foster the overall well-being of students, providing guidance on academic and personal matters.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including Ministry of Education officials, as necessary.
• Participate in professional development and performance appraisal processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources and course materials.
• Lead and participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, promoting a well-rounded educational experience.
• Monitor student behavior and implement strategies for maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Assist in organizing school events and functions, contributing to the school community.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress while ensuring confidentiality.
• Demonstrate commitment by going above and beyond standard working hours when required.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to school committees as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Years Education or a related field, with a PGCE/PGDE or equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area or age group.
• Strong knowledge of ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning.
• Proven ability to engage and motivate students through innovative teaching methods.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
