Job Responsibilities:

• Receive, unpack, and store merchandise or materials.
• Keep records of items shipped, received, and on hand using computerized or manual inventory systems.
• Count and record physical count of inventory items; compare to computer-generated reports to identify discrepancies.
• Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and order quantities.
• Monitor inventory levels; anticipate needed supplies; place orders for stock items as needed; reorder when stock is low or when new stock is available.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards; mark identifying codes on items for tracking purposes with pricing labels or tags.
• Examine merchandise for damage or defects; report any discrepancies in quantity or quality of goods received to appropriate personnel/department for further action as needed.
• Arrange for proper disposal of damaged/expired goods as per company policy to ensure safety compliance with applicable regulations/laws/standards (e.g., hazardous material).
• Assist customers in locating desired items by providing information such as item descriptions, prices, availability etc.; answer customer inquiries regarding products and services offered by the company/store
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of storeroom area(s) ensuring safety standards are met at all times (e.g., operating procedures/guidelines); report any storeroom maintenance issues to supervisor immediately
