Senior Telecom Engineer at Bechtel Riyadh

Job Overview

Bechtel is hiring a Senior Telecom Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting the landmark Expo 2030 Riyadh infrastructure program. This role is ideal for experienced telecom engineering professionals with expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects, telecommunications systems, and multidisciplinary project coordination.

As a Senior Telecom Engineer, you will oversee telecom system design, coordinate with contractors and consultants, review technical documentation, and ensure telecom infrastructure is delivered according to international standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise telecom system design and delivery by consultants and contractors.
• Review technical submissions, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Manage the design of wireless networks, access networks, data centers, backbone cabling, and data communication systems.
• Oversee security and low-current systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Coordinate with procurement teams during tender evaluation and contractor selection.
• Monitor project progress and prepare engineering reports.
• Work closely with stakeholder management teams to secure permits and regulatory approvals.
• Support construction teams by resolving technical issues, RFIs, field changes, and inspection requests.
• Assist commissioning and handover teams throughout testing and project completion.
• Coordinate telecom design with electrical, civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct engineering audits and ensure compliance with project standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecom Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in telecom engineering on major infrastructure or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Wireless and access networks
  • Data centers
  • Backbone cabling
  • Data communication networks
  • CCTV and security systems
  • Access control systems
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Familiarity with international and Saudi engineering codes and regulations.
• Experience coordinating multiple consultants and contractors.
• Knowledge of BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks is preferred.
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills. Arabic is a plus.
