Job Overview
The Senior Operator (SCE) at ADNOC plays a crucial role in the operation, monitoring, and control of assigned plant units. This position is pivotal in ensuring the processing, storage, and export of products meet specified standards while adhering to the company’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating control panels, ensuring safe and efficient plant functionality, and maximizing yield through effective monitoring and adjustments.
In this role, you will engage in routine checks, oversee equipment maintenance, and manage operational incidents. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high safety standards and operational efficiency, ensuring all processes align with ADNOC’s commitment to excellence in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute operational tasks safely according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Document and discuss operational incidents with supervisors to enhance the efficiency of plant operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify and address any abnormalities, coordinating necessary repairs.
- Prepare and review plant equipment for maintenance, ensuring synchronization with other operational systems.
- Safely operate machinery and equipment in accordance with ADNOC’s standards and guidelines.
- Serve as an Auxiliary Fireman or Site Safety Officer during emergencies, following the Facility Response Plan.
- Authorize work permits and oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize the Integrated Control System to optimize plant efficiency and product quality.
- Adjust operational parameters such as speeds, temperatures, and pressures during start-ups, shutdowns, and emergencies.
- Monitor control panels for abnormal situations, initiating necessary operational adjustments.
- Ensure the correct handling and dosing of chemicals in compliance with HSE procedures.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with other departments and plants to manage plant upsets and prevent emergencies.
- Implement and adhere to relevant policies and procedures to achieve operational objectives.
- Provide on-the-job training to support UAE Nationalization initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Diploma in a relevant field or a Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in plant operations within a large industrial setting, specifically in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of operational safety and efficiency standards.
- Ability to work in a controlled environment while being adaptable to outdoor conditions during site visits.
- Proficient in using control systems and monitoring equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to HSE policies.
