Job Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions; accurately measure, mix, count out, label and record medication for dispensing
• Receive and verify written prescription or refill requests
• Monitor drug interactions, allergies, contraindications and dosage requirements
• Prepare insurance claim forms; process payments; prepare a financial report of daily transactions
• Answer questions from customers regarding medications, side effects, storage instructions and other related information
• Maintain inventory levels by ordering medications as needed; monitor expiration dates and discard outdated medications
• Check for expired or outdated drugs in stock or on shelves; dispose of expired drugs according to protocol
• Follow all safety protocols in handling hazardous drugs such as chemotherapy agents.
