Job Overview
As a Panel Operator at ADNOC, you will play a crucial role in supervising and controlling the operations of hydrocarbon processing units and their associated utilities. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor various process parameters such as flow, temperature, and chemistry through advanced Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Success in this role is defined by your ability to maintain safe operations while achieving performance targets, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
This position requires a proactive approach to managing operations, including the ability to identify and rectify deviations from established parameters. You will work closely with field personnel and other departments to ensure that all operational activities align with safety protocols and operational guidelines. Your expertise will be essential in executing safe shutdowns and startups of facilities, as well as leading troubleshooting efforts during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the control panel operations, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of hydrocarbon processing units.
- Continuously assess process parameters and identify any operational deviations, escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Coordinate with field personnel to implement adjustments based on real-time data from the control panel.
- Manage the alteration of operating conditions for maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Review permit to work records to confirm adherence to operational protocols.
- Facilitate safe handover of equipment to maintenance teams during scheduled maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with shift supervisors and operators during emergency situations to ensure safety.
- Oversee the execution of safe shutdowns and startups of process facilities, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and execute emergency shutdowns to protect facility integrity.
- Initiate appropriate responses to alarms and trips in process and utility systems.
- Maintain accurate records of key operational parameters for hydrocarbon processing and utility systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures and processes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Participate in emergency response activities as a team member.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Diploma in Chemical or Process Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in plant operations, with at least 4 years in control room panel operations within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of plant operation procedures and HSE systems.
- Proficient in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and related technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with various teams.
- Experience in scheduling, coordinating, and recording operational activities.
- Ability to manage tools and technology effectively in a fast-paced environment.
