Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, including cleaning, calibrating, repairing, and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Perform routine laboratory tests such as titrations, pH tests, and chemical analyses using standard methods and equipment.
• Prepare samples for testing by weighing, measuring, mixing or diluting them according to instructions.
• Record test results accurately in laboratory notebooks or computer databases.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards by wearing protective clothing and following safety protocols while handling hazardous materials or working with dangerous equipment.
• Assist with the preparation of reports summarizing test results for review by the laboratory supervisor or scientist in charge of the experiment.
• Purchase supplies for the laboratory when necessary and help maintain an inventory system for all chemicals and apparatus used in the lab environment.
• Monitor laboratory equipment regularly to ensure it is functioning properly and keep accurate records of maintenance tasks performed on each piece of equipment or instrument used in the lab environment.
