Role – Head of Industrial Coating

You will lead the entire coating department—overseeing planning, execution, quality, safety, and capacity. You’ll set technical standards, drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with international coating & safety standards (NACE, SSPC, ISO etc.), and ensure projects are delivered with precision, efficiency, and durability.

Key Responsibilities

• Define coating standards, corrosion protection strategies, and technical specifications for industrial projects.

• Oversee surface preparation, coating application, inspection, curing, and finishing operations.

• Lead, mentor, and build the coatings team (engineers, supervisors, technicians, QC / inspection staff).

• Ensure coating processes meet quality control checks: dry film thickness, adhesion tests, visual inspections, non-destructive testing.

• Manage coating equipment, materials sourcing (paints, primers, solvents, hardware), and supplier relationships.

• Budgeting & cost control: optimize coating operations, reduce waste, ensure profitability.

• Safety & regulatory compliance: enforce PPE, environmental controls, HSE standards.

• Work with clients / engineering teams / projects to ensure technical compliance, project margins, and schedules.

• Drive process improvements, implement best practices in surface engineering, coating materials, and finishing systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Materials Science, Corrosion Engineering, Chemical / Mechanical Engineering etc.

• Minimum 10+ years experience in protective coatings / industrial coating, ideally in oil & gas, infrastructure, marine or heavy industry.

• Deep technical knowledge of coating systems: epoxy, polyurethane, zinc coatings, powder coatings, etc.

• Experience with inspection & coating standards (NACE / SSPC / ISO) and tools for inspection.

• Leadership and team management skills; proven experience leading large field and shop operations.

• Strong planning, budgeting, and cost management skills.

• Good communication and stakeholder management; capable of presenting technical information clearly.

• Proactive, quality-driven mindset with commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
