Aramco, a leader in the global energy sector, is seeking an Emergency Management Advisor to join its Loss Prevention Organization (LP). This role is essential in providing both operational and strategic support for emergency management across Saudi Aramco’s extensive facilities. The LP team is dedicated to ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards, making this position vital for the company’s commitment to operational excellence and community safety.
The Emergency Management Advisor will play a key role in guiding various departments in developing and implementing robust emergency management programs. By leveraging industry best practices and recognized standards, including FEMA guidelines and NFPA codes, the advisor will enhance the preparedness and resilience of the organization in the face of potential emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee emergency management initiatives to ensure they align with corporate objectives and enhance overall safety.
- Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments to bolster emergency preparedness across all operations.
- Assist departments in identifying and allocating the necessary resources for effective emergency responses.
- Enhance the functionality and coordination of Emergency Control Centers (ECCs) to ensure swift and effective incident responses.
- Develop credible incident scenarios using an all-hazards approach to support comprehensive emergency planning.
- Create pre-incident plans that facilitate effective emergency response tailored to specific operational needs.
- Design, implement, and evaluate emergency management training programs for employees at all levels to foster organizational readiness.
- Plan, execute, and assess emergency exercises, integrating lessons learned into continuous program improvements.
- Formulate emergency response strategies and facilitate the corporate emergency management taskforce to enhance organizational resilience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to ensure that emergency preparedness frameworks align with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a key facilitator for the corporate emergency management taskforce, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency management programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Safety from an accredited institution.
- At least 7 years of experience in emergency management within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries, demonstrating a strong track record of results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Strong familiarity with FEMA guidelines, NFPA 1600, and NFPA 1620; certification as an emergency manager by the International Association of Emergency Managers is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to produce clear reports.
