CARPET LAYER 1 at KFSH&RC Riyadh installs, maintains and repairs carpet, marmoleum, other related floor finishes. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable. Guides contract laborers and review the work, and ensure that they have proper tools and materials. Follows all Hospital’s related policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Installs and repairs carpet, vinyl, marmoleum and other related floor finishes.
• Inspects and determines the need for repair or replacement of damaged or worn carpeting. Assures proper color, matches and sees that all work is carried out in a professional manner.
• Estimates materials and time required for repairs or installation.
• Stretch and tack the carpet into place, ensuring that it is smooth, even, and securely attached to the subfloor.
• Install padding and other materials as needed to improve insulation, soundproofing, or moisture resistance.
• Trim and finish the edges of the carpet using tools such as a carpet knife or carpet stretcher.
• Clean up the work area and dispose of old materials and debris.
• Communicate with clients and other contractors as needed to coordinate installation schedules and ensure that the job is completed to their satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety regulations and best practices, including using protective equipment and ensuring that work areas are free from hazards.
• Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, in good working condition, and properly stored.
• Maintains records of amounts of carpeting installed, installation and repair hours expended, etc. for supervisor as directed.
• Keeps records of daily time sheets and uses of tools and equipment.
• Follows all prescribed safety policies and procedures.

Education

Associate Degree/ Diploma, or High School with Vocational Training.

Experience Required

One (1) year with the Associate Degree/ Diploma, or two (2) years of related technical experience with High School.
