Job Description:
Accounts Officer Job Hiring. The Energy Department invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Accounts Officer on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing support in budgeting, financial reporting, and audit activities, particularly in the context of power generation and government sector projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
Prepare financial statements, budget reports, and cost analyses.
Support in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
Coordinate with relevant departments and stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Monitor and report on expenditures related to project activities.
Provide support in procurement and contract management, especially for energy/power generation projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (14 years) in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent from an HEC-recognized institution.
Part-qualified ACCA/ICMA/CA-Inter candidates are also eligible.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance in the public and/or private sector.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in power generation plants and government sector financial operations.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
Familiarity with government financial procedures and public sector accounting standards.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
