CenterWell Senior Primary Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused care team in Greenville, South Carolina. As a patient care assistant, you will serve as the first point of contact for seniors, supporting both clinical and administrative operations while helping us put health first.
Key Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant Role
As a healthcare assistant, you will support physicians and nurses by delivering high-quality outpatient care. Your duties will include a combination of clinical and administrative tasks, such as:
Greeting patients and assisting with intake and check-in
Discussing symptoms and accurately documenting information in electronic medical records (EMR)
Measuring and recording vital signs
Administering injections and vaccines (based on certification)
Performing basic diagnostic tests
Collecting specimens, including blood draws and phlebotomy
Sterilizing medical equipment and maintaining exam rooms
Supporting daily clinic operations and customer service needs
This medical support specialist role requires working within established clinical guidelines while managing priorities independently and maintaining quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program OR Certified/Registered Medical Assistant OR 5+ years of relevant experience with provider approval
High school diploma or GED
Current CPR certification
Ability to participate in patient-facing duties, including required TB screening
Preferred Qualifications
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (Certification required for candidates in South Carolina, Arizona, and Indiana)
Experience with phlebotomy and medication or vaccine administration
At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
Background in value-based care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics (CAHPS/HOS)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (proficiency exam required)
Additional Hiring Information
This patient-facing Medical Assistant position requires TB screening as part of Humana’s safety program
Interviews may be conducted using Modern Hire technology for scheduling flexibility

Work Schedule & Compensation
Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range: $40,000 – $52,300 per year
