Project Support Engineer Job Overview
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Project Support Engineer to join its Loss Prevention (LP) organization, the company’s corporate safety organization. The role focuses on providing technical guidance and engineering support related to fire prevention, process safety, facility design, and operational safety across Saudi Aramco projects and facilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholder organizations to ensure that facility designs comply with Saudi Aramco engineering standards and safety requirements. Areas of responsibility include firewater systems, fireproofing, emergency shutdown systems, drainage systems, tank design, electrical classifications, pipeline design, equipment access and layout, facility spacing, and risk areas.

Key Responsibilities
As a Project Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical guidance and developing procedures related to fire prevention, facility safety, engineering design, and operational requirements.
- Reviewing new projects to ensure compliance with applicable Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards.
- Representing Loss Prevention at project proposal meetings and providing technical support throughout design, construction, and commissioning.
- Providing technical assistance during fire and safety design surveys of Saudi Aramco facilities.
- Evaluating facilities for adequacy of design, operations, and maintenance from fire prevention and safety perspectives.
- Initiating and participating in technical studies to address complex safety and engineering problems.
- Participating in task forces and technical study groups assigned to resolve specific engineering and safety challenges.
- Applying hazard analysis techniques to identify corporate risk exposure and develop cost-effective risk mitigation measures.
- Supporting surveys conducted by insurance companies, government organizations, and other external agencies.
- Serving as a technical expert on fire prevention and applicable Saudi Aramco B Series Standards.
- Mentoring and supporting other Loss Prevention personnel.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates applying for the Project Support Engineer position at Saudi Aramco should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- More than 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience focused on technical safety and fire prevention engineering issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hydrocarbon industry design and operational standards and practices.
- Professional Engineering certification in Fire Protection or an advanced degree is highly desirable but not required.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical professionals and management.
- Strong ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional technical reports in English.
