Maaden is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support Mining & Minerals Processing through specialized laboratory testing, analysis, technical activities, and process improvement initiatives. The role will contribute to accurate testing and technical insights that support process development, optimization, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Analysis

• Conduct laboratory testing, experiments, and sample analysis according to established procedures and standards.
• Prepare, label, handle, and store samples appropriately.
• Record, validate, and analyze laboratory results to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Process Support & Technical Execution

• Provide laboratory-based data and insights to metallurgical, mineral processing, and technical teams.
• Support R&D and pilot testing programs involving new processes and materials.
• Provide accurate and timely test results to support process optimization.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Operate laboratory equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure laboratory equipment remains functional, safe, and compliant with operational requirements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze laboratory results and prepare technical reports for relevant stakeholders.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and potential improvement opportunities from test data.
• Maintain accurate records of testing methods, results, and findings.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Follow laboratory safety standards, environmental policies, and operational procedures.
• Maintain quality control protocols to ensure consistent and accurate testing.
• Support audits and comply with applicable regulatory and governance requirements.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, testing methods, and operational efficiency.
• Support the adoption of best practices and new laboratory technologies.
• Participate in innovation and process improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Collaborate with metallurgists, engineers, and other technical teams.
• Share laboratory results, knowledge, and technical insights with stakeholders.
• Support documentation, standardization, and knowledge management activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Technical certifications in laboratory operations are an advantage.

Required Experience

• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in laboratory testing, technical analysis, mineral processing, metallurgy, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and technical reporting.

Skills & Competencies

• Hands-on experience with laboratory testing techniques and equipment.
• Understanding of mineral processing and metallurgical processes.
• Strong data recording, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control and safety standards.
• Ability to follow structured procedures while maintaining accuracy.
• Basic proficiency in Excel or equivalent data analysis tools.
