Head of Boys School job at Emirates National Schools. Emirates National Schools are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Boys School to lead academic excellence, student achievement, staff development, and operational effectiveness within our school community. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and ensure the delivery of a world-class educational experience aligned with the mission and values of Emirates National Schools (ENS).

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & School Improvement

  • Lead the development and implementation of school improvement plans focused on student achievement and educational excellence.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, assessment practices, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure teaching and learning practices reflect academic rigor, international best practices, and curriculum standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, promoting continuous improvement across all grade levels.
  • Stay informed of local and international educational trends, research, and innovations.
  • Promote accelerated learning opportunities and student-centered educational experiences.
  • Supervise co-curricular and extracurricular programs that enhance student development.

Staff Leadership & Performance Management

  • Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teaching and support staff.
  • Lead staff performance management, professional development, and instructional coaching initiatives.
  • Create and manage annual staffing plans, master schedules, and teacher assignments.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that encourages leadership, innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Participate in staff selection, induction, evaluation, and succession planning processes.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication throughout the school.

School Operations & Resource Management

  • Oversee daily school operations, ensuring a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
  • Manage school budgets, resources, facilities, and operational processes efficiently and responsibly.
  • Monitor school maintenance, technology services, security, health, and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ENS policies, educational regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, inventories, and operational documentation.

Student, Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Promote effective communication and stakeholder engagement across all school activities.
  • Support student wellbeing, behavior management, and safeguarding practices.
  • Coordinate school events, National Day celebrations, athletic programs, clubs, and community initiatives.
  • Represent the school at community, educational, and professional events as required.

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and implement annual strategic and operational plans aligned with school and organizational objectives.
  • Monitor progress toward strategic goals and report on key performance outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to board policies, procedures, and governance expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal, Campus Director, and senior leadership team to drive organizational success.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification and educational leadership certification preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience within a primary, secondary, or K–12 educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional leadership, and school improvement planning.
  • Experience managing staff performance, budgets, and school operations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, build high-performing teams, and achieve measurable student outcomes.
