Key Responsibilities
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting (sanding, masking, cleaning).
Mix and match paint colors to meet customer or manufacturer specifications.
Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns.
Perform finishing work, including buffing and polishing.
Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and correct defects.
Maintain spray booths, painting equipment, and tools in a clean, safe manner.
Follow safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Coordinate with body repair technicians to ensure seamless workflow between repair and paint stages.
Keep accurate records of work orders, paint usage, and materials.
Suggest improvements to painting techniques and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills
3–8 years of experience in auto body painting or vehicle refinishing.
Proficiency in mixing paints and using spray-gun equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
Knowledge of paint chemistry, finishes, and drying times.
Familiarity with surface preparation techniques (sanding, masking).
Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
Understanding of safety practices and proper use of PPE.
Basic math skills for measuring and mixing paint.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with body shop staff.
Salary & Benefits
Approximately OMR 160 – OMR 240 / month, based on painter salary data in Oman.
