Job Overview
This is a full-time consultant role based in Al Kuwait, requiring 12–20 years of experience in diabetology and/or endocrinology. The Diabetology Consultant will report to the Clinical Director of Internal Medicine and work closely with the Diabetes Center at New Mowasat Hospital.
Role / Job Purpose
The Diabetology Consultant will oversee diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with diabetes and other metabolic or hormonal disorders. You’ll lead both inpatient and outpatient services, guide treatment planning with insulin and other therapies, and support preventive care through patient education.

Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical consultations for diabetes, metabolic and endocrine disorders in inpatients and outpatients.
Examine patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., blood sugar, insulin, thyroid, hormone levels).
Develop and adjust treatment plans, including medications, insulin therapy, dietary advice, and lifestyle counseling.
Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment as required, and provide follow-up care.
Counsel patients on preventative care for complications like hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetic complications.
Collaborate with other medical disciplines for complex cases and referrals.
Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health guidelines, hospital policies, and diabetes center protocols.
Participate in quality improvement, audit, and continuous professional development activities.
Mentor junior doctors or registrars and contribute to medical education.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized university
Specialist certification/fellowship in Endocrinology / Diabetology.
12–20 years of experience in diabetology or endocrinology.
Strong clinical knowledge of diabetes management, insulin therapies, and hormone disorders.
Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Commitment to medical ethics, patient safety, and continuous education.
