Key Responsibilities
Review HVAC design drawings and coordinate with site teams to implement them accurately
Supervise installation of HVAC equipment (air handlers, chillers, ductwork, piping, etc.)
Lead commissioning and start-up of HVAC systems, including testing and balancing
Monitor subcontractors, ensure work quality, and enforce safety and installation standards
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil teams to ensure project integration
Conduct site inspections, QC checks, and document non-conformances
Manage HVAC project documentation including As-built drawings, testing reports, and punch lists
Train and mentor site technicians, welders, and HVAC helpers
Track progress, report on site activity, and support project scheduling
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or similar field
Proven experience (3–8 years) as an HVAC Engineer or Site Engineer on large construction projects
Good technical knowledge of HVAC systems: chillers, air handling units, refrigeration, ducting, piping
Experience in commissioning, testing, and balancing HVAC systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and HVAC schematics
Strong project management and coordination skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Familiarity with site safety regulations and strong adherence to safety practices
Good communication skills and team leadership capacity
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with HVAC design or commissioning software
Salary & Market Insight
The average HVAC Engineer salary in Oman is about OMR 732/month according to Naukrigulf data.
For a senior HVAC role or with more experience, monthly compensation can reach up to OMR 900/month according to Glassdoor data.
This role’s realistic salary range is therefore OMR 300–900/month, depending on experience, responsibilities, and project scale.
