Job Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Lead MEP QA/QC Engineer to join the Bashair Gulf Duqm Projects team in Salalah, Oman. In this role, you will oversee quality assurance and control for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems in oil and gas contracting projects, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and company quality policies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the QA/QC function for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) across the project.
Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures.
Perform quality audits, site inspections, and coordinate with MEP contractors to verify compliance with design specifications.
Review technical documentation, drawings, and submittals for MEP systems to ensure they meet project and regulatory requirements.
Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), investigate root causes, and drive corrective actions.
Lead a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors; provide mentoring and ensure consistent quality practices.
Coordinate with project management, construction, design, and commissioning teams to ensure quality deliverables.
Maintain and report on quality metrics, documentation, and performance to senior management.
Ensure that all quality-related processes are aligned with the company’s quality policy.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or a closely related field).
8–15 years of relevant experience in QA/QC engineering, preferably in MEP systems within oil & gas or construction projects. (As per the job listing)
Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, international standards, and testing methodologies.
Proficiency in developing and executing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Leadership experience: managing QA/QC teams, training, and mentoring.
Good communication and coordination skills; ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is preferred.
Salary & Benefits
OMR 1,300 – 1,900 / month — as a Lead QA/QC Engineer in Oman, the typical average salary is about OMR 1,672/month.
