Position: Principal – Academics
Reports To: School Board / Managing Director
Education: Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field highly preferred
Experience: 16–26 years in international schooling, academic leadership, curriculum development, preferably in the GCC region
Key Focus: Academic leadership, quality assurance, faculty development, strategic growth
Role – Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary academic leadership: set direction, define goals and ensure the school’s mission is realized.
Oversee all academic programmes (KG, Primary, Secondary), ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices.
Lead curriculum development, learning frameworks, assessment strategies and monitor student outcomes.
Manage faculty recruitment, professional development, performance evaluation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Develop, monitor and report on academic KPIs, quality assurance processes, and external accreditation requirements.
Ensure effective teaching and learning environment, including instructional innovation, technology integration and differentiated learning.
Collaborate with school leadership on budgeting, strategic planning, marketing, enrolment, and stakeholder relations.
Engage with parents, community, regulatory bodies (Oman Ministry of Education), and external partners to enhance the school’s reputation and impact.
Ensure compliance with professional standards, child safeguarding, health & safety and school governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Extensive experience (16–26 years) in academic leadership within an international or high-performing school.
Strong background in curriculum design, student assessment, and faculty development.
Proven track record improving student achievement, school accreditation, or educational outcomes.
Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Deep understanding of international education standards (Cambridge, IB, British, American) and regional schooling context.
Ability to lead change, mentor staff and build a collaborative, learning-centred culture.
Experience in GCC or Middle East education sectors is an advantage.
