Role – Costing Engineer
As a Costing Engineer, you will develop detailed cost estimates, perform project cost risk analysis, prepare budgeting models, and support project cost control. Your insights will guide financial decision-making, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, overheads, and subcontractors
Develop cost models and budget forecasts for project phases
Perform value engineering and cost optimization studies
Monitor actual project costs vs budget, analyze variances, and report findings
Support tendering and bid preparation with accurate costing data
Liaise with project teams, procurement, and engineering to validate assumptions
Conduct cost risk assessments and sensitivity analysis
Support financial reporting and project billing processes
Recommend corrective actions for cost overruns or inefficiencies
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil), Quantity Surveying, or related field
8–15 years of experience in cost estimation, project control, or cost engineering
Strong numerical, analytical, and financial modeling skills
Proficiency in cost engineering tools / software and MS Excel
Excellent understanding of construction / engineering project workflows
Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with project, procurement, and commercial teams
Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong business acumen
