Role – Project Engineer (Power Substation)
You will be responsible for managing and delivering substation-related engineering tasks: design review, technical calculations, coordination with contractors, site commissioning, and supervision. You’ll ensure the project meets quality, safety, timeline, and cost targets, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review and develop technical design documentation for substation systems (buses, bays, protection, SCADA interfaces).
Perform load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, and grounding calculations.
Coordinate with protection & control engineers, contractors, and system integrators.
Support procurement: prepare equipment specifications, evaluate bids, and RFPs.
Supervise site installation, including cable termination, relay panels, and substation hardware.
Oversee commissioning and testing of substation equipment and systems.
Prepare progress reports, technical submittals, and as-built documentation.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Troubleshoot technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
4–9 years’ experience working on power substations or high-voltage electrical systems.
Solid understanding of substation design, protection, and control systems.
Proficiency in power-system engineering tools and software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Experience coordinating with construction teams, contractors, and vendors.
Familiarity with UAE electrical standards and regulations is an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
