Role – Project Engineer (Power Substation)

You will be responsible for managing and delivering substation-related engineering tasks: design review, technical calculations, coordination with contractors, site commissioning, and supervision. You’ll ensure the project meets quality, safety, timeline, and cost targets, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and develop technical design documentation for substation systems (buses, bays, protection, SCADA interfaces).

• Perform load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, and grounding calculations.

• Coordinate with protection & control engineers, contractors, and system integrators.

• Support procurement: prepare equipment specifications, evaluate bids, and RFPs.

• Supervise site installation, including cable termination, relay panels, and substation hardware.

• Oversee commissioning and testing of substation equipment and systems.

• Prepare progress reports, technical submittals, and as-built documentation.

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Troubleshoot technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• 4–9 years’ experience working on power substations or high-voltage electrical systems.

• Solid understanding of substation design, protection, and control systems.

• Proficiency in power-system engineering tools and software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

• Experience coordinating with construction teams, contractors, and vendors.

• Familiarity with UAE electrical standards and regulations is an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
